Traffic congestion in the town needs to be resolved, with improvements needed to traffic movement through the town centre (traffic flows better when the traffic lights aren't working!). Parking in the town centre also needs to be improved and a better working relationship between traffic, pedestrians and sustainable transport within and around the town.

A link road from the coast road the A548 at Belgrano to the roundabout at Macdonalds of the A55 would be relatively inexpensive. This is a major route and EU funding should be sought. It would reduce the Abergele town traffic turning into Water Street from Bridge Street which holds up lots of vehicles. Also reducing the Towyn traffic across the dangerous A547 junction and the narrow country lanes of Gors Road from St George.
I agree this is a major issue and needs sorting. I believe that the lights are not timed correctly and this results in more congestion.
Yes, major development to improve flow of traffic is required. The central broken lines have been curved slightly at both sets of lights so cars turning right can move over allowing others to pass. These lines are worn and people are reluctant to move over to them. I know it only allows one or two cars to move out of the way but every little helps so make the markings more obvious. There are often vehicles illegally parked on the side of Market Street where there are yellow lines on the kirb. This restriction needs to be more rigorously enforced as it can inhibit the flow of traffic.
I believe that the way to reduce the traffic in the town centre is to provide better access by providing better on off on the A55 at Pensarn end of Town. As well as an A55 on off at the business park, removing current and future heavy transport going through town when delivering to Tesco and the stores in Pensarn. As for the town centre the removal of the lights in the centre of town and new pelican crossings either side of the junction and chapel street would make the traffic flow as demonstrated whenever the lights have failed.
Agreed Traffic congestion needs improving. But as soon as the traffic gets through the lights some drivers will speed through the main street far to fast, I am concerned for the safety of pedestrians and surprised there hasn't been accidents.
Yes this definitely needs attention.
Perhaps traffic lights on the side roads that respond when they sense a car waiting to turn onto the main road would be best?
