  • THERE CAN BE NO EXCUSES THIS TIME, CONWY COUNCIL MUST ACT NOW TO SAVE ABERGELE'S DECLINE. We arrange private tours all over North Wales and bring a great deal of revenue to the area. Our groups have attended en mass the Gwrych Castle Open Days this year, every one of them and we have been overwhelmed by the effort and the work that is going on there by the Gwrych Castle Preservation Trust. Who are now jointly in partnership at last and able to do something with this wonderful estate to help it after years of ownership issues. The latest owners have made the Trust their partners and they are leasing the Estate to the Trust at last. We will be there encouring tourists to Abergele and bringing a lot of revenue to Abergele if the powers that be at Conwy Council will at last do something to support this magestic landmark and not keep dismissing it. Thousands of people are supporting the Trust and it is worldwide. We get visitors from overseas all the time asking to attend Gwrych Castle and now we can offer them something thanks to the Trust doing their events. We will be there again on the 23rd of August offering our support as tourists and booking coaches of tourists to attend all their events. Why is it that Conwy Council have not helped more and you now have your chance to do the right thing and to do all possible to back the Gwrych Castle Trust who are an organised and forward thinking Charity to further their aim and bring a landmark back to life in Abergele. Cannot praise their efforts enough and it's remarkable to see such hard work going on with Staff, Volunteers and Trustees. Who give their time freely to help Abergele. Back them please and let's get this show on the road. The Trust have the power to make a difference and they need you Conwy Council. So do we. My childhood holidays were spent in Abergele. Nothing there now and we want those good times back and relive our memories at Gwrych with our Grandchildren! Make it happen! Thank you.

  • Support the Gwrych Castle Preservation Trust and assist progress the Melon House Visitors Centre which will be a main attraction in Abergele. Manorafon is running well and Gwrych will too if Conwy offer backing to the Trust's work and let them get the visitors back to Abergele. Conwy Council have an opportunity to assist Abergele with this project and don't let it slip past again. Get something done and support the Trust who now have a lease for this part of the building. I was there in July and May 2015 alongside 4000 other visitors to the site on these days and it was amazing. With restoration support from you it come back as a top attraction for the region.

  • HERE LIES THE PROBLEM I BELEIVE .
ABERGELE IS A TRADING TOWN . VERY PLEASANT AND LOTS OF HISTORY . BUT PENSARN IS WHERE THE ACTION IS .
The beach .train station .next to Towyn resort .The tourists and daytrippers allready come to the beach ..its fantastic to see .The cycle route 5 and walks by the coast .Parking on and off the beach .
So we allready have a brilliant foundation .Work with and what we got and the spillover up the road to Abergele will happen with marketing and increased visitor satisfaction .

  • Abergele needs an identity, a reason for people to visit.
There's an abundance of things going for Abergele, the beach, the walks, the castle, the churches, its history.
A information map could be produced leading the visitor around the town, with points of interest along the way. Introduce small information plaques on the side of buildings, the pavement etc

Why doesn't Abergele have a medieval theme, make the most of the castle and St Micheal's church, create a sculpture of a Abergele Knight or similar character/s and have a few placed around the town, visitors would go on the trail to find all the characters. Visitors would have to spend a few hours in the town and its something for both kids and olds to enjoy and it should attract some 'selfie' enthusiasts.
Remember Liverpool's Superlambanana from years ago. Sailsbury is doing something similar at the moment called Barons' Trail.

  • It's good to see MAnorafon now thriving and bringing more people to the town. Now the restrictions that Richard Arrowsmith had to contend with and the Eldon Drive NIMBY is finally ignored this business is bringing trade to the town. Good luck to them. SORT OUT GWRYCH !

  • Welcoming and informative signage would be good. Family friendly areas and businesses needed.
